Priyabrat Tripathy(Associate Partner)

Priyabrat is a lawyer and a qualified company secretary having a post qualification experience of around 17 years both as in-house and external counsel. Priyabrat started his legal practice in the year 2000 and continued it till 2006 with various corporate and litigation firms. From 2004 to 2006, Priyabrat worked extensively on the litigation side particularly in telecom, energy and other commercial matters. He was also assisting the Union of India Panel in Supreme Court during those days.

In 2006, Priyabrat joined as an in-house counsel with Delhi International Airport Ltd. (DIAL). DIAL was a unique experience in the sense that it was the first brown field privatisation of airport in the country and lead to many new policy formulations for the civil aviation sector. In DIAL, Priyabrat was 
responsible for the legal issues of aero business, regulatory and indirect taxation matters. During his time, Priyabrat lead the in-house team for conceptualisation, finalisation and award of two international tenders for a brown field and a green field cargo terminal in DIAL, first Tariff Application of DIAL under AERA and the litigation against levy of service tax on Concession Fee. 

In 2010, Priyabrat joined Isolux Corsan India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Grupo Isolux Corsan, Spain as Head Legal. Isolux Corsan India had projects in various verticals of infrastructure sector like highways, transmission line, railway installation etc. and in both concession as well as construction mode. As Head Legal, Priyabrat was assisting both the concession as well construction side of Isolux Corsan India. In practice, the focus of Priyabrat is infrastructure sector. The AJC team under Priyabrat is capable of providing end to end services in infrastructure sector right from risk analysis, bidding, project development, contract management to dispute resolution and arbitration. The good point of working with Priyabrat is that being an in-house as well as external counsel, he has seen both sides of the practice and knows exactly what the management wants. Further, being in the infrastructure sector for almost a decade, he understands the business as well the issues associated with it quite well.
